Dwight Dozier
Lead Pastor
Dwight and Dottie Dozier have served as lead pastors of Encounter Church since December of 2001. They share a passion to see people encounter Christ and come to maturity in faith. They are driven by a conviction that faith is not merely an object we possess, but a relationship that transforms our lives. Dottie earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Pittsburg State University and Dwight a master’s degree in rural ministry from Trinity Bible College. The Dozier’s have three adult daughters, each married to godly husbands. God has also blessed them with three grandsons and three granddaughters.
Megan Tate
Children's Pastor
Megan Tate is the Children's Pastor at Encounter Church and joined the team in September 2021! Pastor Megan is passionate about helping children grow in their faith. Pastor Megan leads and directs children’s services on Sundays and Wednesday evenings, as well as outreaches. Megan is a Concordia native, and she came to Encounter Church with six years experience from College Drive Assembly of God in Colby, Kansas as their Children's Pastor. She earned an Associate of Arts degree at Cloud County Community College and studied elementary education at Trinity Bible College in Ellendale, N.D. She has six brothers and sisters and she loves being an aunt.
Jake Newman
Youth Pastor
Jake Newman joined the church staff in 2020. He and his wife, Lea, have five children who help make up the rest of their ministry team. He is a graduate of Southwestern Assemblies of God University, and Lea is a Nurse Practitioner here in Great Bend. They love working with the youth of this church, helping them encounter God and His plan for their lives. They have served in various ministry roles in other churches throughout Kansas in the past and are happy to be a part of the ministry team at Encounter Church.
